The right crane depends on three things: the weight of the load, the radius (horizontal distance from the crane to where the load goes) and the height. Rated tonnage is only reached very close to the crane, so a bigger crane is often needed for long reaches even when the load is light. Tell us what you are lifting and where, and the crane company will pick the right machine from its load charts.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a crane company?

No. Border Quotes is an independent referral service. We don't own or operate cranes. We pass your request to independent crane companies that serve your area, and they quote and perform the work directly with you.

How much does it cost to use this service?

Requesting quotes is free for customers, with no obligation. Crane companies may pay us a referral or advertising fee; that never changes the price they quote you, and you are free to accept or decline any quote.

How much does crane rental cost in the Rio Grande Valley?

It depends on crane size, hours, travel, permits and crew. Public Texas rate sheets show roughly $125–$187/hr for 15–30 ton cranes, about $198–$250/hr for 40–60 ton, and about $282–$355/hr for 80–100 ton, each with a 1–4 hour minimum plus travel. See our pricing guide for sources. Those are examples, not quotes.

What information do I need for a quote?

The load (what it is and approximate weight), how high and how far it has to go from where the crane can park, the city, the date, and anything that affects setup like power lines, soft ground or tight access. Photos help a lot.

How fast will someone contact me?

We forward requests as soon as we receive them. Response times depend on the crane company's schedule; urgent same-day jobs are best handled by calling or sending a WhatsApp message.

Do the crane companies have certified operators and insurance?

We ask companies we work with to confirm they carry insurance and use certified or qualified operators as OSHA requires for construction work, but we cannot guarantee it. Always ask for a certificate of insurance and operator certification (for example NCCCO) before the job.

Is this a tow truck service?

No. We only help with lifting cranes: hydraulic truck cranes (grúa titán), boom trucks and rigging. We don't do towing or roadside assistance.

Which areas do you cover?

The Rio Grande Valley of Texas: McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, Mission, Weslaco, Harlingen, Brownsville and nearby communities in Hidalgo and Cameron counties.

Can I request in Spanish?

Yes. You can use the Spanish site or the Spanish form. Many crane companies in the Valley speak Spanish.

Who do you share my information with?

Only with up to a few independent crane companies that may be able to do your job, and service providers we use to run the site. Read the privacy policy for details.
